Make the Choice to Live Well Now

If you have been making excuses and have dozens of reasons why you cannot join the gym, exercise or take the time to get into shape, start looking for new reasons. Look for reasons why you should get into better physical shape. Look for reasons why you should sacrifice time on other things to go for a walk, walk in place, join a gym or start following the exercise videos on television. Instead of making excuses and coming up with reasons why you cannot get into good physical shape, find one excuse and one reason why and hold on to that reason and do it.

Always remember – it doesn’t have to be perfect to be profitable.

As you begin your journey to get into good physical shape, keep in mind the fact that it doesn’t have to be perfect to be profitable. In other words, you can get good results even when your actions are not perfect. The photo above shows the four sentences that are on the white board/bulletin board next to my desk in my office. I wrote these statements on my board to help me with the work I do as a writer. (I write for the blog Janeane’s World and have written several books). What I now understand, is that those sentences perfectly fit my goal to get into good physical condition. Check out the explanation under each statement to show how these things intended for writing will work for your efforts to get into better physical shape.

1. Don’t worry about if it’s just right, just write.

Don’t worry about whether your routine is just the right, just do it. As you continue along your journey to get into better physical condition, you will learn better exercises, better eating patterns and better ways to do a great many things. The important thing is to just start your journey towards improved physical health.

2. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be profitable.

You can get into better physical condition even if you do not do everything perfectly. You may not exercise the prescribed number of times per week. You may not have the best diet plan. That does not matter. If you are exercising more than before, you will get results. If you are making better food choices than before, you will get results. You don’t have to be perfect at it all in order to get better. Don’t worry if you skip days at the gym or eat the wrong thing for a week. You messed up your plan, so what, go back and do what you need to do to get back on your plan to get into good physical condition.

3. Write like your life depends on it.

When it comes to getting into better physical condition, act like your life depends on it. Act like it, because it does. When you exercise and eat better, you are taking the steps you need to take in order to live a better life. Exercise and proper food choices will help you to live a longer life and to have a better quality of life. Your life actually does depend upon what you do.

4. Just write.

Just work towards getting into better physical condition. Forget the excuses, forget the things you may have done wrong. Just do the work to get into good physical shape.

This is the skirt I want to get into at the end of journey to get into good physical condition.

In other words, getting into good physical condition is a journey. During the course of many journeys things happen to get you off track. On real road trips, there is traffic on the highway, weather delays, sleep breaks that are needed and all kinds of things that can turn a two hour trip into a four hour trip. Remember the Israelites spent 40 years in the desert for a trip that should have taken less than a month. There is an old television show called Gilligan’s Island that turned a two hour boat ride into years on a desert island. In both these cases, the journeys had ups and down, but the destination was reached. As you and I travel from where we are to where we want to be on our journey to get into good physical condition, there will be ups and downs. But, in the end we will reach our destination.

Take time now to look at where you are when it comes to your physical health. Then decide where you want to be. Next create a plan to take you from where you are to where you want to be. Share the plans for your journey in the comments below.

    Making that first move to get fit is always the hardest. My sister was overweight for most of her life. She finally took that step and took control of her health and lost over 100 lbs.

    I really needed to read this today. I have been so bad about exercising and eating right since I had my back surgery. (Part of that is self-pity that I am still in pain and I can’t do the types of activities I did before my accident.) So thanks for the encouraging post.
